Berlin, Md. — The Pocomoke Boys’ Cross Country team faced its biggest challenge to this point of the season Wednesday evening running the inclines and declines at Mt. Decatur, hosted by in-county rival Stephen Decatur High School. The boys’ team (88) persevered through the treacherous landscape to finish third overall behind the host Seahawks (72) and top finishers Cambridge-South Dorchester (40).
Pacing the Warriors’ five point scorer were junior Nick Palmer (21:30), senior Khalyl Laws (22:16), sophomore Marvin Mason (22:50), junior Najee Taylor-Nelson (22:59), freshman Chris Warner (23:52).
On the girls’ side of the action, the Warriors (90) finished fourth behind Cambridge-South Dorchester (66), Snow Hill (64), and Stephen Decatur (25). Returning top runner Cedara Franklin paced the team finishing 15th with a time of 28:33. She was followed by teammates Cali Litton (30:02), Ellie Litton (30:21), and Roaa Elhag (30:55).
